What is iced kenkey?

Iced Kenkey, also known as "Kokonte" or "Corn Dough", is a popular Ghanaian snack made from fermented corn dough. It is typically eaten with soup or stew, but can also be enjoyed on its own as a snack.

To make iced Kenkey, the corn dough is first mixed with water and formed into small balls or patties. These are then wrapped in banana or plantain leaves and boiled until cooked. Once cooled, the Kenkey is sliced and served with soup or stew.

Traditionally, Kenkey is served at room temperature or warm. However, in recent years, vendors have started selling the iced version which involves cooling the Kenkey in the fridge or freezer before serving. The result is a refreshing, chilled snack that is perfect for hot summer days.

In addition to its delicious taste and refreshing qualities, Kenkey is also rich in nutrients and fiber. It is a good source of carbohydrates, protein, and vitamins, making it a popular choice among athletes and those with active lifestyles.
